When will I see you again?
31st January 2019
Don’t worry, we haven’t completely dropped off the face of the earth (although it may seem like that right now!)
I’m sorry that we seem to have gone a little quiet since last summer – I just want to take a little time to explain what is going on.
To further the educational side of Much Ado with Shakespeare in Schools, our founder and Artistic Director Becky Clayden has been undertaking a postgraduate course in drama teaching that started in September.
She was hoping that a Christmas tour would have been possible with an assistant director and frequent trips back to Nottingham from Manchester, however due to the demands of her course it wasn’t quite possible to get this ready in time, and we would rather wait and do less tours a year at our usual high standard than do something that was sub-par.
Our usual Shakespeare in the Beer Garden summer tour will be going ahead as usual however! We have begun the planning stages and we’re hoping to bring a brand new show to even more venues, even further afield than the Midlands (keep an eye on our social media pages for updates on this). We’re very excited for this tour as we’ve had such a long time away from the stage we all have lots of exciting ideas to implement this summer, as well as some exciting developments in the company as a whole.
So to sum up, we just want to say a huge thank you to everyone for bearing with us during this unexpected sabbatical, and to confirm that we will be seeing you at a pub near you this summer!
